How was everyone’s Christmas?? I’ll be doing a photo recap of my holidays after NYE because I know I’ll want to include pictures of that! Before the new year rolls around, I’ll be putting up a NYE look. Would you rather have a normal tutorial, or a “get ready for NYE with me” type tutorial? Let me know in the comments below! I’ll also be doing a recap of my favorite & least favorite beauty products of 2012. Lots of fun things to look forward to!
For now, I’m making up for my serious lack of favorites videos this fall. As I explain in the video, I really just got kind of stuck in a rut with the products I was using, so I didn’t want to bore you with those over and over again. So check out my comprehensive fall favorites in my Fall 2012 Most Worn Things TAG!
Abercrombie & Fitch Woven Plaid Shirt (similar)
Sinful Colors Magnetic Nail Polish (Force Field)
Most Worn Nail Polish: Essie Vanity Fairest/OPI Bubble Bath
My goal for my winter favorites is to have a non-light pink shade as my most worn polish. You can’t tell in the picture, but Vanity Fairest has a slight shimmer which is a different than most of the other pinks that I own. Bubble Bath reminds me of my Essie Limo-scene–a pale, almost-white pink.
Most Worn Hair Product: Oscar Blandi Pronto Texture & Volume Spray
Thank you Birchbox!!! A product I probably wouldn’t have discovered on my own because I don’t like to use a lot of products in my hair. This instantly gives lift and oomph to my fine, straight hair. Need to purchase the full size bottle ASAP.
Most Worn Bag: Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Speedy 30
I switch over to this version of my Speedy 30 for the fall and winter because I like how the monogram canvas accents the darker colors I tend to wear during these months. And I just love that it’s personalized!! You don’t see that too often, and I get TONS of compliments on it.
Most Worn Shoes: Tory Burch Patent Reva Ballet Flats
My rain shoes. Haha that’s so insane. I realize that. But so cute and so comfortable!! The patent leather instantly cutes up any outfit. I wear them with jeans, tee shirts & a fun scarf (like the one below), or with sundresses when I don’t feel like wearing heels. I also love that they can look cute-casual or dressy depending on the outfit and occasion.
Most Worn Accessory: Forever21 Polka Dot Scarf (similar)
I adore scarves!! I have an insane collection and I’m always looking to add to it. I like lighter weight scarves because they work in the summer or winter here in Austin where you don’t need your thickest Burberry scarf to keep you warm. I love neutral colors in a fun pattern to keep things interesting.
Most Worn Article of Clothing: XTaren Chiffon Polka Dot Blouse (similar)
I got my blouse for Christmas last year, so it’s not online anymore. This is a pretty good substitute though!! This is color reversed, but it’ll do. My favorite ways to wear it: with a black cami & black hi-lo maxi skirt, or sheer with black skinnies & black high heeled booties.
Most Worn Foundation: Dermaloque BB Cream
You can see my full review of this awesome BB Cream here, so I don’t need to say much else here, but I’ll leave you with this little anecdote. My mom was visiting and had a horrible reaction to a mask that turned her face candy apple red. A little Dermaloque later, and she looked as good as new!! It completely covered the redness without looking heavy or cakey. Need I say more? Go buy some. It’s on sale.
Most Worn Blush/Bronzer: MAC Blush (Well Dressed)
Y’all know I’ve been loving this one since it’s popped up in most of my tutorials this fall. It adds the perfect rosy glow to the apples of my cheeks. I wear it alone or pair it with another blush for that natural looking flush.
Most Worn Lip Product: C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm
I’ve tried a number of low and high end products to soothe and heal my chapped lips, but nothing works. I’d pretty much just given up hope on finding something that would actually work. Then my friend dropped this and a couple other C.O. Bigelow lip products off at my door for my birthday and my life was changed forever. You know it’s good when I wake up and it’s still on my lips!
Most Worn Mascara: L’Oreal False Fiber Lashes Waterproof Mascara
A new take on my favorite mascara ever–L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara. I should’ve known that the formulas would be similar in that they get better once they’ve been opened for a week or two. I know, I know. It sounds silly that my favorite mascara needs to “age,” but I’ve tried other mascaras and I just keep going back to my trusty Voluminous.
Most Worn Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Vice Palette
I know you’ve heard me rave about this before, and that’s exactly why it is featured as one of my fall favorites. The opportunities are endless with this palette–bright & funky, smoky & sultry, or pretty & chic. Check out my full review of this palette with swatches here.
