July Birchbox

Another month, another Birchbox, and I must say that I’m so pleased to receive another outstanding batch of samples.  I’m so glad that Birchbox is stepping up their game, and really putting forth an effort to send samples that are fitting for each individual customer.  I got an email a few weeks ago saying that they had added more questions to the beauty profile, and I was happy with how detailed and specific they were getting.  For example, they asked about the number of perfume samples I wanted to receive.  Speaking as a girl who’s worn the same perfume for the past fifteen years, I appreciate them realizing that I don’t want one of my samples wasted every month on yet another bottle of perfume that I’ll never ever smell, let alone wear.  But back to the lovely collection of samples from my July box.

Model Co. Party Proof Lipstick (Peony)

ModelCo Party Proof Matte Lipstick (Peony)
Let’s start with my favorite, shall we?  We all know that I’ve got an obsession with my ModelCo Lipgloss in Showgirl Red, and this is just the amazing matte lipstick version.  I did a little squeal of glee when I saw this little tube of joy in my box.  It’s a fabulous color, and like my lipgloss, smells like Strawberry Bubbilicious.  However, I was wee bit worried about the matte part.  You may also know that I’ve got super dry lips, and I wasn’t sure how hydrating a matte lipstick could be.  Let me tell you, it’s super hydrating.  This lipstick is incredibly pigmented, goes on smooth, and lasts through a meal.  Ladies, we have a winner.  Expect to see me wearing this soon.  I’m sure I’ll post a picture on Instagram soon, so go follow me on there!

ICON India Oil

I’ve been loving me some hair oil lately.  Ever since I received the ginormous bottle of Argon Oil in my Nume Beauty Dare Set, I’ve been adding this into my beauty routine.   I was excited to see how this one measured up.  It’s got the same consistency, smells good, and makes my hair soft and shiny.  This is a blend of argan and other nourishing oils, and if I were currently in the market for a hair oil this would be in the running.  Plus, I like that this one comes with a dropper!  However, I’m still not sure how I feel about forking over $40 dollars on hair oil, when I could make a great DIY version for a fraction of the cost.

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream
Although I can’t really pronounce it, I do like this hydrating cream.  This was one of the samples that made me feel as though Birchbox had actually read my beauty profile.  This is designed to repair skin damage and provide 26 hours of hydration.  First of all, who goes 26 hours without washing their face?  Not I, sir, not I.  So I’m not sure if provides 26 hours of hydration, but it did make an excellent night cream.  It’s got a thick consistency, but doesn’t feel heavy or greasy.  It would take quite a few more more test runs to see if it repairs skin damage, but so far I’m liking it!

Caldrea Body Lotion (Coconut Fig Leaf)

Caldrea Body Lotion (Coconut Fig Leaf)
I’m not sure what a Coconut Fig Leaf is, but it smells amazing.  Okay I joke, but I would’ve never thought that this combination would smell as wonderful as it does.  However, I think I want to like this more than I actually do.  For $22, this should be way more hydrating than it is.  It’s rather runny, and it took a ton of product to cover my dry skin.  I’ll finish the two sample packets I received, but then I’ll be sticking to my Jergens, thankyouverymuch.

Birchbox Bobby Pins

Birchbox Bobby Pins
These were this month’s beauty extra, and they’re cute!  I’ve never been a fun bobby pin kind of girl, but I think these would make a cute addition to my voluminous side braid.  Don’t you?

If you’re signed up for Birchbox, what samples did you get?  Did you like them?  If you’re not signed up, but you’d like to be, then here’s the link!

Best & Blessings,
Rachel

Birchbox made a big effort this month! I feel like they read my profile too. My fave this month was the Eyeko Skinny liner I have seen you use – mine is purple, which is fun, and I’ve never ever found liquid liner so easy to use! I got some great deep conditioner too which is perfect for summer when I am in the ocean or pool all the time.
