Hello friends! Today I’ve got a mini haul and reviews for y’all from b-glowing.com. I was introduced to b-glowing by a lovely new blogger friend, Jess from Love for Lacquer. You need to subscribe to her immediately because she’s just amazing! Aside from having an incredible name, b-glowing is an online boutique that sells hand-selected beauty products from all over the world. It’s a one-stop-shop for lots of brands you love and those you don’t yet know you love. But back to the name. Founder, Lisa, explains, “The name comes from the call-to-action of “being”. “Be the best you can be”, “be you”, “be truthful”, and “just be!”. And the word “Glowing” from reflecting the radiance we all deserve to have inside and out”! That sounds a whole lot like my reasoning for naming this blog Glow of Grace, so I was won over from the start.
I love online boutiques that make it easy on the shopper. I’m not going to lie, I rarely ever shop in person anymore, so I love the idea of being able to purchase a multitude of beauty and skincare items from one place. It saves me time and effort from site hopping, as well as money on multiple shipping fees, which is awesome because that ish adds up fast. b-glowing also offers free shipping on all domestic orders over $75, 3 samples of your choice with every purchase, and allows for both a discount code and gift with purchase at checkout. On top of all that, when your package arrives, it’s like Christmas. Every order is gorgeously wrapped and includes a lovely thank you card. And remember those free samples I mentioned? Even those are beautifully packaged, but more about that later. Let’s get down to business and see what I got and my thoughts on the products!
Let’s start with these little beauties. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know I go to acupuncture once a week, and they have these Sara Happ lip products sitting in the waiting room taunting me each time I come in. So when b-glowing said these were on their way, my excitement could hardly be contained. Y’all know I’ve got serious dry lip issues, so I’m always on the hunt for my next great find.

This fine, sugary tub of goodness is heavenly. The peppermint flavor/scent is delicious and I look forward to massaging this over my lips every couple of days. There aren’t any weird ingredients, so I’m not terrified to get this in my mouth, which if you’ve ever used a lip scrub, you’ll know is impossible to avoid. And a little goes a long way, so although this tub isn’t very big, I know it will last me a while. It exfoliates my lips without being too harsh, and leaves my lips feeling like new. With the season of dark lips quickly approaching, I know this will be a must in my beauty routine. In fact, it already is. Spoiler alert: This is an August fave!

After trying out the lip scrub and immediately falling in love, I had high hope for this lip balm. Unfortunately, I was little disappointed. Well, actually I have mixed feelings about this little guy. From the look of it, I was expecting it to be buttery and soft, but it’s actually a bit hard and difficult to pick up on your finger. So it takes quite a bit of work, and a few trips from pot to lips to achieve a sufficient coating. Then once it’s on, it’s really sticky, which isn’t something I look for in a lip balm. Especially because I use balms like this as a night cream for my lips, so I don’t love crawling in to bed and getting stuck to Kyle (hello, good night kiss. Don’t be dirty.), my cats, and my pillowcase. However, the stickiness does mean that it lasts until morning without wearing off, and I suppose I do wake up with softer lips. But in general, I’m happier with my Nivea lip butter that was free with the purchase of a $3 body wash.

I am still testing this baby out, but so far, I like it as a sunscreen, but not as a day cream. It feels too heavy to be a true day cream, and I’ve got dry skin, so I feel like it would be really heavy to those with an oily complexion. It works decently under makeup, but again, it just made it all feel a little heavy. It does smell like a sunscreen, which is fine, because that’s exactly how I will use this. I’m currently in California, and this has made the travel cut and will be protecting my face for my day by the pool and trip to Disneyland. When I know I’m going to be out in the sun a lot, I would definitely opt for this over any other face sunscreen because it doesn’t break out my sensitive skin. Although it seems a bit pricey compared to drugstore options, one bottle would most definitely last you through the spring and summer, and I’d be willing to pay a little extra for the assurance that I’ll be protected and breakout free.

I am always a little nervous about trying out new skincare items because my skin has been so screwy lately, but I do it for all of you. This was one product that I’m glad I tried! This cooling, detoxifying face wash has been a great addition to my morning routine. The cooling sensation gives me an extra little wake up boost, and the super creamy formula feels really luxurious on the skin. It’s got a fresh, slightly soapy scent that is very light and not at all overpowering, and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean. I don’t find it too drying, which is pretty good for me, and I think it would be even better for those with normal or oily complexions. A definite win in my book, and the bottle is large, so I look forward to using this for the next few months.
Remember those samples I was telling you about? They always come in a little organza bag, which I will definitely be re-purposing for jewelry storage. I honestly wish I hadn’t been so excited to examine my new goodies, so that I could’ve taken a picture of the beautiful wrapping. It was all gift wrapped in a deep red tissue paper, with a b-glowing sticker, and extra tissue to pack the box and keep my products from getting banged up and damaged in shipping. Clearly, a company that takes so much care in packaging their orders is one that cares about its customers.
