Urban Decay Vice Palette: Chaos + OOTD

Vice Palette - Chaos

I’ve done a few of these tutorials before to help you use some of those ultra bright, intimidating colors in the Urban Decay Vice Palette.  But I must say, blue is one of those colors that, even in its palest form, can be a touchy color to use on your lids.  So when you look at this palette, you’re probably frightened of the cobalt blue staring you in the face.  In this tutorial, I show you a way to wear Chaos (or any other cobalt or bright color you might want to try out) so that it’s subtle and pretty, rather than bordering on clown makeup.  Enjoy! 🙂

Vice Palette - Chaos

Now you see it…

Vice Palette - Chaos
Now you don’t!  It’s like magic! Because I’ve got the magic in me, and every time I touch that track it turns in to…. blue.  Hahah okay I’ve been listening to the Pitch Perfect soundtrack too much.  But in all seriousness, I think the main reason this look is so great is because when your eyes are open, you only get a hint of the color showing.  This makes it appropriate for all ages and for any occasion.  If you want to amp the look up for a night out or for a more dramatic statement, repeat the process for the lower lash line as well.  Smudge the blue right into the lashes and then line your waterline with black pencil liner.

I also wanted to explain why I used the white base under the Chaos.  Not only does it help the color really pop, but it gives the shadow something to stick to.  The line should be smudgy and a bit hazy, but you still want a distinguishable line.  If you don’t have that NYX jumbo eye pencil, you should get it because it’s only a few dollars and I use it ALL the time!  But if you don’t want to or can’t, using any white or nude eyeliner would work just fine as well.  You could also use a black liner under it, but that will darken up the shadow, so just be aware of that.

Vice Palette Chaos OOTD

So normally, I’m not the “matchy matchy” type, but since the makeup look is so subtle, I think it really ties this outfit together nicely.  I’ve had this skirt for ages and I’ve always worn it more casually, but I recently decided to pair it with a blazer and booties to dress it up.  These flouncy printed skirts are all over these days, and I think they absolutely scream SPRING TIME!  This would be a perfect day to night outfit because it can be dressed up by changing just a few accessories.  During the day, I’d most likely just wear the skirt and the tee with some espadrilles or t-strap sandals.  Then all you have to do to transform the outfit is throw on a blazer and some heels and you’re ready to go!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post!  Do you like when I add OOTD’s to my looks?  Let me know in the comments below!

I’m trying to work out a schedule for my posts, but you can count on 2 videos a week and I’ll throw in an extra blog post some weeks!  Thanks for watching, reading, and supporting me!

Best & Blessings,
