5 Minute Makeup Challenge

Cover photo

Watch and enjoy as I take on the 5 minute makeup challenge!  I’ve been seeing this floating around Youtube, but never really had any intention of doing it.  I just haven’t had any desire to fly around like a crazy person trying to make myself presentable under a strict time limit.  Then I was forced to get ready in a huge hurry to run an errand with Kyle before his PT, and I pulled off this exact look in an amazingly short amount of time.  Insert my sudden inspiration to time myself and put it up for my Fresh Friday look.

5 min makeup challenge

So I realize that this is not the most earth-shatteringly creative look, but I’d like to see what you can throw together in five minutes.  This is, however, a look that I wear on a regular basis, so for the sake of being balanced, it’s good for you guys to see what I do with my face in my normal life away from the camera.  I spent my precious few minutes focusing on the face, and pretty much completed my normal foundation/blush/bronzer routine.  If you’ve got perfect skin, then you can take that time to use on your eyes, but I don’t.  Plus, I figure that if I’m not going to take the time to really apply eyeliner, I’m going to look twelve anyway, so I might as well just give in and embrace it.

Adding a hint of shimmer to the center of your lids will really help to brighten up your eyes, and therefore, your whole face.  It will make you look more awake, vibrant, and youthful.  I would’ve preferred to spend a bit more time on my lashes, but hey, what can you do?  It is seriously hard to properly curl your lashes when you’re frantically rushing around.  The bright pink blush adds a nice, natural flush to my cheeks, and to finish it all off I’m loving this pink, my-lips-but-better lipstick.  If you want to amp up this soft look, just add a bright lipstick or gloss for a pop of color.

We all have times when we have to get ready in a jiffy, and whether you’ve got energetic kiddos yanking on your leg or an impatient husband chomping at the bit to get out the door, just know that if I can do it, then so can you.  And next time you find yourself in this predicament, just take a breath and get going.  I think we all spend way more time running around in a panic instead of devoting those precious moments to curling our lashes or dabbing on a little lipstick.

Best & Blessings,
