Happy Fierce Friday! My Urban Decay Smoked Palette has made a comeback for today’s tutorial. I wanted to do a warm, neutral smoky eye that’s perfect for warm summer nights and I just couldn’t decide which palette I wanted to use for this particular tutorial. Then I saw my Smoked Palette just staring up at me from my makeup cabinet and knew it wanted to be on camera again. If you don’t have this palette, these particular shadows are easy colors to substitute, and as always, this tutorial is meant to provide inspiration so you never have to follow it exactly if you don’t want to. Enjoy!

There’s something about this blend of shimmery browns that just screams summer to me. The warm weather makes me want to seriously cut down my makeup routine, but it’s always nice to show up for an evening out feeling a little more nighttime appropriate. By staying away from black shadow and liner and blending like crazy, this smoky eye becomes soft and subtle enough for a warm night on the beach or on the patio of your favorite bar.
I kept the rest of my face really natural. I didn’t even contour! (No contouring OR false lashes. Who am I?!) I just wanted to keep the focus on my eyes and dewy skin, so I chose a blush and lip color that would add a bit of color to my face without looking too over the top.
