Urban Decay Naked2 Palette: Minimal Makeup + Contouring

In honor of finishing my Smoked Palette Series, I thought I’d pull out my Naked2 and do a really minimalist makeup look.  The anti-smoky eye, if you will.  This is great for daytime adventures, work, or any time you don’t feel like wearing a lot of makeup, but don’t want to look like you just rolled out of bed.  I love makeup that doesn’t really look “made up” and just enhances your own natural features.  I took this to another level by getting detailed with my contouring and highlighting.  I was flipping through my Making Faces book that I’ve literally had for at least a decade, and came across the contouring and highlighting page which made me want to work that into a look ASAP.  I think it’s actually quite fitting for this look because it’s a great way to make you look amazing without a lot of noticeable makeup.  Sorry that it made this video super long, but I couldn’t help myself.  I was just too excited to film this entire look!

Products mentioned:
L’Oreal True Match Foundation (W3)
Stila Contouring Trio (discontinued, but this is a similar shade to the dark)
Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked2 Palette
Sigma Essential Brush Kit (Make Me Blush)
Face It Auto Gel Eyeliner Pencil (Black)
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
Urban Decay Super Curl Mascara
NARS Blush (Orgasm)
Urban Decay Urbanglow Creme Highlighter (Wicked)
Maybelline Coverstick Concealer (Light Beige)
Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lipgloss (Naked)

On me:
M+O Long sleeve White Tee (similar)
OPI Gel Nailpolish (Bubble Bath)
EXPRESS Headband (similar)

It’s pretty amazing how much contouring and highlighting changes the shape of your face.  If you’re addicted to Pinterest like me, I’m sure you’ve seen the shot of Kim Kardashian all drawn up in her angle-shaping makeup.  It can take any face from pretty to stunning with a few swipes of bronzer and concealer.  Since I’ve got round features to match my round face, I kind of feel an addiction coming on.  I think I’ll eventually do a post with before and after pics with a focus on this basic makeup technique.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and tutorial!! I’ll be back soon with a review of my new favorite hair products.  Happy contouring!

XOXO
